I did not expect the waitlist.
When I installed it, there was a waitlist. It’s been more than 6 hours. Maybe because since it just released on mobile it’s packed..? Edit 5/12/23: now it says 502 gate way error. What is happening!? Another edit TODAY: I’m back on the waitlist now... what the heck…?

I've been at "Voice Building in Progress..." for nearly 5 hours. I started at #183 in line, and that number hasn't budged. Is this expected behavior? Does the number in line change or update as those before you complete theirs?

i dunno wats goin on, i downloaded it 20 mins after it was available, and im still waitin, but i dont see any numbers like where i am in the line...

I wonder if it has anything to do with leaving the voice unlisted. Maybe they deprioritize those who don't want to share their voice. *shrugs* If that's the case, they could at least let us know that. I won't wait longer than the end of this day for some kind of movement on this. After that, I'll find an AI voice app that not only actually works, but doesn't have one of the worst web page and UXes I've seen.

I just received an email that it was finally done. But nothing whatsoever has changed, and it still says it's building. The 'voice' tab shows everyone's else's avatar/voice, but won't allow me to play any of them. And there's not discernible way to locate and/or play my own voice which is allegedly complete.
What a great experience. This just gets better and better.

Update: I received a 2nd email stating that the build was complete. It actually showed up this time. Now I think I have to train it, even though it's my own voice. Anyway, the recording was pretty noisy. I'm going to start over and try once more with better & longer source audio.
Random tinfoil hat thought... I wonder how much all of our vocal biometric data will be worth to corporations and the government when they start building their giant China-like ESG system, which will need this kind of data along with everything else being sold on the open market in order to identify/track/control us.
But oh, shiny new AI !

There are two separate issues of discontent on this thread.
Firstly, the waitlist is a holding pen for those who have not yet been given access to use the software on their machine.
Secondly, the voice build process involved in uploading your own voice characters.
The latter can take as much as 2-3 days and you will see a # of your position in the queue of the building process. However you will also receive an email upon completion.
The former however is especially frustrating for Mac users as we have already been waiting for months for this app to arrive. We now find ourselves in digital limbo and more frustrating yet is that there is virtually no information to be found online. The Mac launch appears to have been a tad rushed.
