    Any progress on this? It would be a game changer (literally) to offload voice to a second GPU, especially in VR where we require the GPU just to render the scene.

     

    1GB of vram usage for the model is also a major issue, GPU's and game engines don't handle sharing memory very well, they assume they will have all the vram to themselves.

     

    If we could just use an old gaming card to offload to, problems solved!

    After weeks of research, I found a temporary workaround to use a second GPU. This workaround will let you set a second GPU as your computer's power-saving GPU, and select it per-application in the windows graphics settings screen.

     

    This should be done within the voice.ai software though, as the workaround requires manual registry edits.

     

    I posted this fix on the linus tech tips forum to make it easier for others to find a way to do this, and I can confirm that it works fine with voice.ai in it's current state, it also works with DirectX games and other DirectML applications. For OpenGL applications, use the NVIDIA Control Panel.
