Silence is interpreted as mumbles

I left the app in live mode with an empty house and now it seems to think that silence is an attempt at speech and just mumbles or puts out repetitions of whatever was said last. Sometimes it literally says mumble mumble and a string of nonsense sounds. App is totally useless until this is resolved. Tried closing and restarting and tried voice tuning again. The behavior continues.
