Silent output

I haven't been able to get this to work on my desktop once (I did get it to work on an older laptop, but that thing is so laggy, it can't run properly).

My voice seems to be getting picked up, as I can do the voice tuning. However, in record mode, even though it's showing it hears my voice, I just get silents, or a humming sound. In Live mode, I get nothing. I'm not sure if it's something on this PC not allowing it to work since it does on the old laptop.
